Tks for your insight re 4956811. I wasn't sure if Circuit TG actually contained a clocking device . I thought TG to be the DRAM controller and circuitry. From reading further I see that it is probably an oscillator. And I suspect it's primary(only?) use is for timing sequences relative to DRAM. Not derived from or driving the system timing. Is that a correct interpetation?
Also from Hashimoto patent and what was said about Bagula I made the following notations:
1. Again it appears that the oscillator(s) is being used for timing sequences relative to DRAM. Same a above. Is that correct?
2. The interconnects and scribe areas are not considered active areas in the patent text, but are they really inactive areas?
3. Lastly, 148 speaks of a ring oscillator that is made from the same transistors on the same die as the latches and gates. Would that necessarily be different that any other ring oscillator?
I would be much appreciative to have your comments on the aforementioned, if you would be so kind. TIA
Opty
I take it from your post that there is on board clocking. Could you confirm that for us novices?
With respect to Bagula and Just from reading the rejection I made 3 notes to self.
