I don`t think you should call it manipulation. I think you should call it trading.

The question traders and investors are asking: How do you price a stock with:

Tremedous upside: AMD. a possible patent win, potential licensing wins etc

vs

Tremedous Downside: Swartz/Lincoln, a possible patent loss, potential of no more licensing

Its a penny stock. Roll the dice and hope you don`t crap out.
