The MMP was originally one patent. It was infact the patent office that determined that it was seven individual patents (inventions). I wonder if it had been left alone would it have been harder to prove obviousness? When you look at each individual aspect it may be easier to prove obviousness with prior inventions, but it would seem not so obvious in the whole. I guess we will see if this can be used as its strength or its weakness. Perhaps another defense for us?
