Try this: One holds 5,000,000 shares. Over a period, a percentage of those could be sold, for let's say 20cents average price. The selling pressure makes the price drop and any perceived bad news makes it drop further. Then one buys back the shares one has sold at 10cents average price.
1,000,000 shares sold and repurchased in such a manner, $100,000 profit, with no reduction of holdings. Take this back to when the price was over $1 and the profit potential is substantial.
