If I remember correctly Moore refused to change the meaning of "independent". I believe the examiner wanted Moore to explain it in a different manner. Moore responded by saying the term "independent" needed no further explanation or clarification. I assume you are referring to this? At this point it's all starting to be a blur to me! It's gotten to the point I can barely remember which patent is which...... is it the '584, '845, '458, there starting to turn into number soup.
