Acouple of weeks ago, I suggested that maybe the webcast was a signal of some pending larger piece of news. I t was pretty much dismissed because conference calls and the like are common following an earnings report. However, my general experience is that they follow a year end report or more likely a surprise earning to the upside.
Anyway, per RG's newsletter....he indicated that the crossflow revenue plan would be addressed in january and he would endeavor to provide info on the MMP and the USPTO situations in early 2009. It just seems to me that the webcast can offer no more than the newsletter did and what we probably already know regard earnings unless there is something new brewing. If he is going to be barraged with questions about Crossflow, Nupower, MMP, USPTO and so on without having provided some info , by way of news release....then why go forward with the SHOW only to say we cannot discuss that now but will be addressing it soon.
I again harken back to the insider purchases totalling somewhere around $155,000.00 after having paid income taxes. These were not done to placate the retail investor. imo. RG had already made a fairly substantial purchase after being hired. I don't think anyone was on his rear to pony up again.
Unless there is some mystery revelation to be disclosed in the quarterly, I see no reason to take investors head on in the webcast when IR gets enough on a daily basis by way of email etc.
I suppose he is just having it to blow some wind or because other companies do it or to be a nice guy ? Heck, we just had a shareholder meeting a couple of months ago. A month or so later, PTSC management and board do what they have never done to such a degree and then announce a webcast. My gut tells me( yeah that's worth alot lol), we gonna hear somethin! On tuesday I may be partially right or completely wrong. If the latter....don't beat on me too hard.....I will be plenty upset already. good luck
