I believe you statement, "unless they use us of course," is the key. Each institution has already invested substantially in their own system and those systems may not be of a compatible nature, and IMO it is the Crossflo CDX solution, or others like it, that are the crux of establishing data exchange interfaces between them. I think it is unlikely that each institution will overhaul its entire system, but rather look for a solution that can translate between theirs and others' systems. I don't know this for certain, but it seems the logical path. And of course, we would still need to secure a portion of that work for any of this to matter to Patriot, and us shareholders.
