Hannover. Thursday, 5 March 2009, sees the launch of the first 'automotive DAY' at CeBIT (3 - 8 March). The event will be realized in cooperation with the B-to-B magazine automotiveIT and addresses the topical theme of automotive IT. Thus, automotive DAY targets both automobile manufacturers and component suppliers. Top speakers will be presenting and discussing the latest developments and trends in IT, as well as the cutting-edge solutions and innovations that can help make the world's most dynamic, exciting industries even more efficient and competitive. The event 'automotive DAY' takes place within the CeBIT Global Conferences from 2 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. in the Convention Center (CC).
The keynote speech, which will be delivered by Klaus Straub (CIO of Audi AG), is entitled: 'IT Governance in the Automobile Industry'. Günter König (CIO Salzgitter AG) will speak on 'Automotive 2.0: Optimization of Business Processes', while Volker Raupach (Vice President IT Europe Johnson Controls) will address the topic of 'Data Security in the Automobile Industry'. Michael Tschoepke (CIO Keiper GmbH) will present another interesting talk on the opportunities posed by variablization in IT. Finally, Darius Zand, Chairman of ITA (IT for the automobile industry within the VDA - German Automobile Manufacturers' Association), can expect keen interest from across the entire industry in his presentation of the findings of a recent study on 'IT trends in the automobile industry'.
The challenges facing the automobile industry are probably greater than in any other sector. Globalization and the current state of the economy make it even more important for the industry to improve performance across the entire value-adding chain. In this context IT has become the key tool in advancing business strategies and optimizing performance.
Participation in the event 'automotive DAY' is free of charge to all visitors at CeBIT. Those interested should register in advance with automotiveIT, the co-organizer of the event, at www.automotiveIT.eu/automotiveDAY
