With all the dealings with ACER this may be note worthy. They were on the news today about the new cell phones, but I couldn't find today's news. Just this PR of what was going to be announced on Feb. 16-17, 09. GLTAL ( So was all the legal wrangling about this? Are we in any of this? ) I haven't been able to read the most recent news to know more. Perhaps someone else can find out something?

I was wondering how long we would have wait for some news on the Acer phone which is expected for a Q1 2009 release, finally more info has arrived out of the woodwork

Last year we reported that Acer is busy like little guinea pigs in the labs working on a mobile phone for release this year, well Acer is back in the news again, and this time Acer has confirmed that the Mobile World Congress which will take off next month in Barcelona will be the place the Acer phone will be officially unveiled to the flipping world (February 16). I'm highly excited because I'm a lover of Acer products and owning an Acer mobile phone would be a great addition to my collection.

It's rumored that Windows Mobile will be the mobile OS of choice for Acer, with the shortcomings of Windows Mobile some people would have preferred Android or Symbian, but if Acer can do for Windows Mobile like what HTC has done, then there will be no problems.

Acer President and CEO Gianfranco Lanci will be the man to showcase the handset, hopefully, it won't cost an arm and a leg.
