I admire your reasonable remarks and your profund examinations, but don't you agree, the USPTO process - especially since one year - has caused the halt in the license business? And more: The infringing companies are NOT expecting a re-validation by the USPTO, otherwise we would have seen much more new licensees?
The presumption, the lack of new licensees was due to the increased license fee, was not proved by the numbers of the last quarters, thus we have to conclude, there is actually NO pressure on the infringing companies.
There is no doubt: Every CEO of an infringing company, who refused to pay a licence in 2006, 2007 or 2008 got confirmed by the last events. Even if he should have to pay 20mio in 2011 (provided one of the patents gets through the USPTO), he saved money for his company.
