The MMP was purchased Dec 22, 2008, and subsequent to that Asustek purchased the CORE flash license on Jan 5, 2009. There is a very good possibity that the cost of the MMP license may have been incentivised so that the CORE flash could be licensed by TPL.
The only question is whether PTSC is being used, or whether PTSC agreed to a lowball MMP license fee? And if they agreed to it, why? There is the slim hope that perhaps the amount being given up to facilitate the CORE Flash deal would be made up on a subsequent license. And thus may not be representative of what subsequent licensees paid. In any case, this duel licensing capability through Alliacense, is going to continue to cause these kinds of suspicions which can't be any good for shareholder trust and morale.
