A 3+ mln share day says it all.
2 of the 3 outfits I worked for that had GSA contracts, 1 of which is in it's 4th decade, and the other in it's 2nd, attracted business from non-federal gov't customers, by the mere fact that we had a GSA contract.
1 of the contracts was the supply of product, to include maintenance and engineering services. Private industry is well aware how difficult it is to do business with the federal gov't. It becomes a "bell cow" of sorts, and validates the worth of a company, and the customer base can grow from this exposure. It's a win-win without a doubt IMO.
The purchasing via the GSA to vendors, after a learning curve, becomes very seamless. A releationship builds over time, and it grows exponentially if handled the right way.
I am very excited about this developement!!
