the fact that it can be reopened only allows the opportunity for the seeming fishy ways of the first examiner to be exposed... we all agree on the fact that the exmaminer did not get it as to the two clocks and how they synergize.

This is what I first thought when this was brought up today. We(PTSC) were behind the new reexam, a way to have our disagreements with the examiner looked at again. It doesn't look like now that that is what is happening. Maybe as you state, it will be to our benefit in the end anyway.
