Now that was a "responsive" response. But recall the original LL question I was replying to asked whether, when I was in Contracts, we issued a contract to a company that didn't legally exist. My answer was no, not to my knowledge, but that many companies as well as the USG contracted with us after our corporate legal status had ceased to exist. I also had explained in detail how the hiring of consultants was handled - making it clear that the key is that it's the person/people you're hiring based on their credentials, not a corporate name. Mr. Baroni exists, I presume, and his credentials are available for validation.

We once hired a consultant firm to aid in ISO9001 qualification actions. Before that hire, we were provided info on that company and its consultant services history. We were also provided information on the specific consultants that were to be directly engaged in the effort, including picture and resume of each. I'm certain that if we had a problem with the credentials of any one of those people, the firm would have offered up another candidate for consideration.
