Slightly paraphrased and extremely optimistic and not at all based on any facts, (how's that for a disclaimer - lol), I'd love to see something like this! Obviously, this is a bit over-dramatized, mainly to help ease dream a bit, but I hope that some licenses are in the offing soon, and that TPL/PTSC can inject some forward thinking language that implies the pending successes they see, while still not revealing any of the key information they seem to take issue with.
Carlsbad, CA - Patriot Scientific (PTSC.OB) announced today that General Electric (GE) is the latest company to purchase an MMP license. GE CEO, Jeff Immelt (fraternity brother of lambertslunatics by the way) stated that with the recent announcement by the USPTO regarding the intent to recertify the '336 patent, any validity questions that GE had about the patent have been removed, and we felt it was timely to secure our license now rather than at later time when license fees would have escalated even further.
Rick Goerner, CEO of PTSC, stated, "Our exclusive MMP licensing agent Alliacence has placed over 450 companies on notice that they are candidates for licensing the MMP, since the beginning of the MMP licensing program in 2005. In just the last month, since the USPTO indicated that it intended to end the reexam process that had been intiated by a select few companies seeking to delay their need to license the MMP, we have had a flurry of interest by a large number of these companies seeking to secure their license now that the issue of patent validity has been put to rest."
"The GE license represents a milestone in the MMP licensing program as with the consistent wins in the patent reexam process at the USPTO with both the '584 and the '336, and with the success in Germany with the unified patent, GE recognized that challenging the validity of the MMP would only result in paying further escalated license fees and additional legal costs, and that companies should now recognize that an MMP license is essential to their ability to offer their entire range of products without interuption. While foregoing the previously discounted rates, we applaud GE for taking the decisive action to secure their MMP license at this time, and expect that we will be announcing several more high profile companies that will have secured their MMP licenses over the next few weeks. As the prices of licenses are escalating due to the elimination of uncertainty resulting from the recent positive USPTO and German actions, we encourage all notified companies to secure their licenses in a timely manner."
Patriot Scientific also has announced that Greg Baroni has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors, and that Carlton Johnson, has resigned to pursue other endeavors.
Oh, yeah, PTSC would like to be the first to congratulate the Steelers for their upcoming unprecedented 7th Lombardi Trophy win, and we expect that PTSC will be similarly successful!
