Absolutely true! But would you rather sell one hundred shares and make a nickel on each one. ( $ 5.00 ) Or would you rather sell one hundred thousand shares and make a half cent on each share. ($500.00 ) It's also about volume IMO. So the more shares that can be sold means more profit sometimes, depending on the diference between the bid and ask and the volume.
Then there is the matter of velocity and momentum. If it reaches a certain speed and the diffence is a nickel, well 100,000 shares with a nickel spead ($5,000.00) is better than a spread of half a cent.
Volume being demand.
News being velocity.
IMO both are coming (again)!
