I can agree that to some degree a royalty is a payment and it can be a one time, recurring, or some other variation.
However, in our case with the MMP, which one is it now? According to the above definition, it does not have to be one time. It could be one of the other two stated.
Someone can correct me if I missed it, but I do not recall TPL use the word "royalty" in prior announcements.
If a royalty is a payment, then is a payment a royalty? As in " I made a payment on my house or on my car." VS "I gave a royalty on my house or on my car." The two just dont' have the same ring or meaning to me.
Now think about if you are leasing the house or car which is more like what is happening with the MMP. People still say they are making payments on their car or on their house ( even though the car and the house is not theirs ) They just get to use it. And I have never heard someone tell me they are paying a royalty on their house or car.
The word "royalty" is somehow different than "payment". It is that difference that makes the difference!
