I offer the following thoughts.

The new examiner is a male and is probably more inclined to talk to a female than another male and might feel more at ease. My preference would be a female to do the contacting.

As to knowledge, I don't think all that much is needed. Because I doubt very seriously that the examiner is allowed to discuss such matters that might involve prior art and how it can be applied. I think any questions should be along the lines of trying to understand the USPTO reexam process. More likely to get the examiner to respond if that is the nature of the call. Help me to understand something.

Of more importance, IMHO, is the voice coming over the phone line needs to be articulate, but also courteous, friendly, appreciative, non-threatening etc.... There is a word than encompasses all that, but I can't come up with it this moment.

Lastly, my name was suggested as a potential for the caller. What immediate came to my mind was these words from a BD song-

It ain't me babe. It ain't me your looking for. Babe.

And the wife agrees.
