The technical stuff is beyond me but could the "Bizarreness" have something to do with the fact that the arguments were from the reex before it was merged with 90/010,562 and the examiner is bringing both reex's to the same stage in proceedings from PTO's perspective?

We had to make housekeeping amendments prior to this OA and now the examiner is doing his "housekeeping" arguments?
