"This patent thing is very confusing. It still says : "Reexamination Certificate for Patent 5,809,336, issued Sep. 15, 1998"

Doesn't have today's date.

I choose to see that as a good thing...perhaps with all the modifications for clarification it has not changed the patent very much from its original form. Which would mean we can still sue for past infringment.
