Do we know what patents were owned by Avot, Talis, etc that we may have acquired when we purchased those companies? Is it a reach to assume that management purchased companies not as much for their immediate marketability as the value of patents owned, ala MMP?

The fact they overpaid is a goose which may yet need some cookin', but trying to rationalize the past and wondering if patent acquisition could be a fundamental driver.
