The message I took from Milestone's post is far more basic, especially recognizing that the "deal" suggested may not ever happen.
The message I took is that:
1) Apple is paying some "30p" per unit for use of ARM's essential technology in just one (hot) product.
2) Recognizing this, Apple is considering paying "£5.2bn" so that they OWN the technology (and the possiblility of future technology).
Seeing how ARM's tech is built largely, if not totally, on the tech of the MMP, one could suspect (with good reason) that our technology is equally essential.
What's it worth?
What would Apple be willing to pay (without contest)?
FWIW,
