fatwollit, today is the 12th of May and I just came across this article for the first time, but not here! I was doing my DD and came across it. I thought it was very interesting and while trying to find more info from it I googled something and POP there is an agora link and your/this post!!! How funny I thought: one, that it was already on Agora thanks to you and two, this is not the first time this kind of thing has happened to me.
I am highlighting the points in the article I thought stood out.
Furthermore I will ask the question, " So does this mean that we( PDSG) are already partners with HP in a major way ( meaning exclusive)? Does it mean that the tech ( or PDSG) has been purchased, merged, or will be purchased by HP? I wonder why none of this has been made more public. I wonder what happened and the timing that the folks at PDSG sort of vanished ( like Joe Ramirez and Hartley?? ) and yet Gloria stepped in to be doing all the work for PDSG??? Are we ( PTSC) in transition? It seems to me that HP is very aware of what is taking place and talking about it. ( See my next post )
Meanwhile and currently PTSC is not talking about it. At least they are not yet. What gives? The blog is from 4-27-10 and today is 5-12-10. Still no word from PTSC. The end of the month is coming. Will we get news then? By then? Just after? Before board elections? What's up with that? All this against the MMP legal stuff with DL and CM and USPTO !!! And don't forget that timeline for the GSA contract that was signed in mid March and not announced until April 23 or there abouts. Look at the stock movement prior to the official announcement.
So here are the phrases I thought were significant:
Maritime Domain Awareness initiative PDSG) has integrated ( what exactly does "integrated" mean?) its highly successful Crossflo DataExchange® (CDX) product with the solution from HP, enabling the direct interface into numerous government agencies with interests in ensuring the countries coastlines are secure.
HPTF & Expo event in Las Vegas
CDX is turning out to be an invaluable “layer” integrated with the rest of the Maritime Domain Awareness solution that hooks it into the many government agencies required. Networking with these agencies requires understanding of the many new government protocols and standards as much of the information is sensitive and subject to government legislation when it comes to revealing the data on file. However, PDSG has become one of the few companies to have successfully navigated this potential landmine, and the runtime environment in support of CDX today runs on NonStop! ( NonStop is Hewlett Packard's )
“PDSG's CDX product on HP NonStop is a key component of the Maritime Domain Awareness solution to enable information sharing across departments or law enforcement agencies in real-time because national or local security requires 24 X 7,” explained Mary Kwan of HP worldwide BCS marketing who is responsible for Public Sector business. Mary went on to explain that it is not a toolkit or a loose collection of products and components, adding “HP is bringing all these components together for the customers as an end-to-end integrated Maritime Domain Awareness /Port Security solution ‘from HP’”. (note that the author placed quotations indicating that it is not really from HP, IMO licensed or ??? )
I have looked at a number of new applications in the Financial Services marketplace but I am often asked about the applications in other markets and this one has the potential to develop a significant market presence, as no country can operate in isolation. The Maritime Awareness initiative’s engagement with the NonStop division is a very positive development for all who belong to the NonStop community. ( I have been seeing CDX4 being a solution not only for security like health and military but also financial security).
