I stand corrected. If the nominations must be put forth, then by all means.....

It just seems to me that if there is a push for a change to majority vote, that change would be a prerequisite to considering candidates (otherwise it's rather pointless, don't you think?).

So apparently write-in candidates at time of voting are not acceptable? I find that interesting....and rather unique.
