Why? Do you think his response would be to do something negative or do nothing, while KNOWING absolutely that his superiors, perhaps all the way up to the top of the "chain of command", may be watching?

That letter, and those that preceeded it, was carefully crafted as a collaborative effort by several smart Longs. And each letter "builds on" the one prior.

With this latest letter, the facts we advise should alone be sufficient to get the head of the reexamination organization's attention. I would think that those facts, and the time span since the examiner was officially advised by Henneman, would be enough to raise eyebrows. A bogus re-exam, that should have been recognized 16 weeks ago (if not prior), and nothing? Are suspicions of corruption justified? And failure to act, from the top down, if there is illegal activity (beyond ignoring statutory instruction), rings of collusion at all levels. The "higher ups" have now been "dragged in".

Then there is the advice that, basically, we're serious about our concerns and will not hesitate to take this to the next level if we see no action.

We're working the issue from the top down. Something I suspect Henneman would not or can not effectively do. He's working it from the bottom up, which is probably most appropriate for legal patent counsel to do. We're "interested parties" clearly outside the inner circle, but with a vested interest and a valid concern. As such, there should be no way this could come back on PTSC/TPL/Henneman. And I suspect and obviously hope it will have the desired effect.

It's certainly better than doing nothing but crying about being a victim of ridiculous circumstance.
