• Develop plans, define approaches, originate designs, conduct engineering analyses and experimentation and document results

• Provide team leadership, mentoring and accountability

• Provide a lead role and coordinate the activities of a small development team for near term project deliverables

• Investigate, document and solve technical problems involving knowledge in software and implementation

• Analyze performance problems and design and implement software improvements

• Work with QA Manager to troubleshoot problems, clarify issues, assess priorities, estimate effort, define problem resolutions and identify workarounds

• Evaluate and integrate 3rd party packages

• Follow software development procedures and bug tracking facilities

• Create and track project plans and schedules, identify risks and report status

• Provide customer support with integration and hardware/software problem resolution

• Develop and review documentation

• Experience in the full software development life cycle, including proven team leadership experience

• 5-10+ years Java experience

• Solid knowledge of J2EE, Javascript, SOA, web services, JBoss and Tomcat

• Strong software design/architecture experience

• Strong familiarity with server-side application frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, JSP and JSF.

• Deep understanding of web service technologies and frameworks (JAX-WS, JAXB, CXF, and Axis)

• Strong relational database skills (SQL, indexes, database optimization and design)

Desired Project Experience:

• Designing and implementing commercial solutions

• Designing and implementing enterprise solutions

• Designing and implementing data integration solutions

• Deploying and configuring Apache ServiceMix, FUSE or OpenESB

• Deploying and configuring workflow/rules engines, e.g. Apache ODE

• Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIPs) a plus

• Experience developing utilizing an Agile development methodology a plus

• Familiarity with NIEM, Shibboleth, SAML and XACML
