We saw a total of 15 trades today. During our 7 hours of trading those 15 trades resulted in an average of one trade about every half hour. The average shares involved in each of those 15 trades was 3467, rolling up a total for today of 52,000 shares changing hands.
The trading of 52,000 shares amounts to a paltry .00013 of the 409 million outstanding shares. Converting that to a percentage we get .013% of the outstanding shares. Many accounting systems would not even report a number that small.
Today the difference between the high and low trading prices was 3%. Looking at volume and price variation this is almost a dead stock as far as the market is concerned.
Well this is non-activity really is a surprise to me given all the bad news of late. My guess is all the bad news stopped virtually all potential buyers, at least at these prices. But existing holders have decided to wait and risk what little is left in their accounts; it’s virtually a write-off at these prices anyway so no one is panicking to sell.
IMO we are seeing a very interesting market situation. Does anyone know of a similar case of a stock that flat-lined like this?
