CUPERTINO, Calif. -- The TPL Group, a purpose-built boutique specializing in the development, commercialization and management of intellectual property assets, today announced the promotion of Janet E. Neal from director to VP of international administration reporting to Dan Leckrone, TPL Group chairman.
Ms. Neal first began working for TPL Group chairman Dan Leckrone in the London office of Memorex Corporation, when Leckrone was serving as Vice-President-Law of Memorex International. This early working relationship earned her valuable experience in corporate law, executing complex tasks in a multi-national environment comprising 22 non-US Memorex subsidiaries. It also led to Leckrone recruiting her to handle international administrative duties for the TPL Group, soon after he founded the company in 1988.
"Janet has consistently proved to be a remarkably valuable associate over the many years I have had the privilege to work with her," said Leckrone. "She has become my proverbial right hand in tracking and coordinating an increasingly complex mix of international activities, particularly with the recent formulation of two new TPL Group enterprises, namely Alliacense and Intelasys. We congratulate her on her promotion, and thank her for accepting additional responsibilities to provide the requisite international administrative support."
Ms. Neal started her career at the British Broadcasting Corporation ("BBC") in London. Her eagerness to travel subsequently prompted her to work for British Airways at Heathrow where she took full advantage of discounted travel to see the world. Her abiding interest in the entertainment industry later led her to accept a producer's assistant position at Pinewood Studios. Her early career moves also included stints with Bytex International where she dealt with major film companies, and with Alfa-Laval, a leading global provider of specialized products and engineered solutions, where she worked in public relations.
Just prior to joining the TPL Group in 1991, she served in a number of broadcast-critical positions for Sky TV in London, initially as a program assistant for the Head of News, and then later as a unit manager for the International Business Report Team. In her most recent position at Sky TV, she served as a program assistant for the News Studio, creating broadcast graphics for the 24 hour live news bulletins.
