When you think of big projects within the justice and public safety market, you tend to think of the large-scale statewide radio communication projects. However, one project that is very high on a lot of companies' radar this quarter is the Connecticut Criminal Information Sharing System (CISS) project. This project, administered by the Department of Information Technology and steered by the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Board, has had quite the following amongst INPUT members. In fact, this project is one of the most sought after projects in the INPUT community and the public safety market. To prove my point, I have outlined a list of companies that attended the pre-proposal conference last week for the CISS request for proposals (RFP):

  • IBM
  • SAIC
  • Patriot Data Solutions Group
  • L-3 Communications
  • KT International
  • Agile Technologies
  • Software AG
  • Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC)
  • Analysts International Corporation
  • Crowe Horwath LLP
  • Affiliated Computer Services
  • Elbit Systems of America
  • CNT Infotech
  • Data Vision Group
  • PilotFish Technology
  • Tidepool
  • URL Integration
  • Tetrus
  • SAS Institute
  • GovCentric
  • Computer Aid Inc
  • Sierra Systems
  • Memex
  • Electronic Knowledge Interchange
  • Oracle
  • John Snow Incorporated
  • Coplink
  • PCC Technology Group
  • Visionary Integration Professionals

With 29 companies attending the pre-proposal conference, you can only imagine what the RFP review process will be like. Chances are it will be well into 2011 before a contract is awarded. Proposals for this project are due November 24, 2010. Please view INPUT Opportunity # 47518 for additional details on this project moving forward.
