Shareholder reps do not "inform the shareholders". I firmly believe it is this wishful thinking about "getting someone on the board who share the interests of shareholders" and the belief that somehow insider communication will from that point be magically shared behind the curtain with the 10,000 plus shareholders and that this fairy tale is at the heart of all of this shareholder activism.
Have any of you people even read the pacers that explain the reasons for confidentiality in all of the ongoing litigation with the T3 etc? Brian was the shareholder rep and was muzzled almost completely during his tenure in this role. You see how that has worked out for all concerned. I hate to break it to you but as a BOD member you would be limited even more to communication channels you are currently seeing from the BOD shareholder meetings and PR release and approved investor relations replies to questions.
In addition to the corporate world's tendency to avoid answering questions in such a way that answers to these questions not be construed in court to be broken promises and future class action lawsuits etc., etc. - How would a new face - qualified or not - overcome these confidentiality dynamics specific to the ongoing intellectual property licensing that are part & parcel at the heart of the business model you have all presumably invested in? (By the way if you didn't understand that going in to this investment - you are in WAY over your head!)
For starters- Can anyone articulate what this new face on the BOD would / should do in the first board meeting they would presumably attend if they made it that far?
Would it be some sort of "there's a new sheriff in town" proclamation? What next?
C'mon - all of you monday morning quarterbacks - you must have a plan that will get some of us skeptics on board.
I am one of the few people that have actually sat on a BOD and know for a fact that - even if you are on a BOD it doesn't mean you will then be empowered to make sweeping changes. You will then be part of a consensus style team in the making of decisions That's it folks. You are dreaming if you think otherwise.
I have seen nothing but hot air thus far in this vein.
