BLX has a big U.S. partner in Sunnyvale, Calif., based Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE:AMD - News). BLX and AMD have jointly developed prototypes of low-cost network PCs for the Chinese market.

These so-called thin clients are designed to use Godson-1 and AMD chips, Halfhill says. It`s not clear whether any of the BLX/AMD-powered thin clients are for sale in China.
