I think if anything about it was illegal it would have surfaced by now, wouldn't you?

With the ease at which complaints can be made to the SEC it wouldn't surprise me if any potential conflicts of interests haven't already been investigated, and resolved to the SEC's satisfaction. But that shouldn't stop anyone from making another complaint on the off-chance that this point has never been raised before.
