Yeah, it`s all messed up. Religion is a double edged sword - orgainizes the masses and strives to provide order and rules to live by, but yes, also promotes the agressive tendencies we`re seeing today.
Because of improved communication and transportation, I almost think we`ve come too far, too fast as world. The improvements have made for higher qualities of life for the individual, but also inturn magnify world differences.
Mix these two above together, along with various economic systems and the varying degrees of socialims and capitalism, and we have the formla for what we have today.
All of this has been happening for centuries, but the advent of improvements we`ve made to the base systems have resulted in speeding the processes along...
As crummy as our politicians are, I can`t think of a better country to live in.
And as far as leading this country, I shudder to think I`d ever use this as a reference, but In prodding my kids to get to bed last night, I couldn`t get them away from a SouthPark episode, dealing with 2 ``people`` who were running for some type of local office - one was a ``douche`` and the other was a ``Turd Sandwich`` (I`m not making this up, only reporting the facts....I have a love/hate relationship with that show).
I came to realize that whoever`s running against whom, be it the lowest held public office to the highest in the U.S., we still get the same, be it Diet Coke/Diet Pepsi, Potato or Potato(e), Douche or Turd Sandwich.
(ramblings off)
Regards.
