I agree. ALL stocks have swing and day traders. It doesn't seem to hurt AAPL, GE, HD and GOOG. Everyone is a swing trader. When someone says they are long term holder and do not trade, to me that means they are underwater or have not hit their sell price yet. I do not know of ANY reason to buy and hold a stock forever. IMO the only reason to buy a stock is to sell it at the first opportunity for a profit that you have pre-determined. Maybe that is %200 maybe it is %20. Out of 400 million shares out there I am sure the vast majority would be overjoyed to make %20 profit and move on.
