I did say the response that I got was insane. Really a non-response and hard to understand to boot. Calling the USPTO is perhaps a crapshoot.

I did not think it took that long to get into the Gazette. I just looked at a couple of prior reexams and it does indeed look like it takes at least a couple of months.

OK, sorry I brought it up, but at least I'm no longer concerned that there may have been some problem. So thank you for providing the answer.
