Thanks Ron,
We settled the J3 at the entrance to the court room. The same quarter we licensed 10, maybe 11 other companies. On top of a favorable Markman. That was the single biggest quarter I can recall in our history, of licenses issued. Our revenue (PTSC) that quarter was in the area of $12MM. Legal expenses came in over $9MM. What were Alliacense and TPL doing ? Giving discounted licenses because we were being re-examined ? Is that going to change now, since we are not being re-examined ?
You might be right. Further patent challenges might not be considered by Patent and Trade Office. I think that's speculative, and harmful thinking. I'm not confident that another challenge can't be granted, though. With 300, or more, companies on notice of infringement, I wouldn't be surprised if another patent challenge came up. If one (or a group) of those infringers does drop a bomb on us, before we've established any momentum in licensing with escalating fees, I believe we will be bag holders.
Perceptive Reality just keeps rolling over like a well trained dog.
What's a little more time ?
I can at least hold off the negativity till after the new Markman and the outcome of the Barco case. They are seperate proceedings from Acer and HTC ? Right ?
