As for the statement above...

Is there no-one who can figure out how to pry this hapless BOD away from the dictatorship they seek so intensely (and expensively) to maintain?

Answer:

Stockholm syndrome comes to mind.......BOD was kidnapped by Lecky long ago...Years later they came to identify with Lecky and provided financial and moral support to the detriment of all retail shareholders.
