All he is doing is following up on yesterday's news which caught him off-guard.

He appears to have a believable statement of fact, stated flatly and without particular comment or bias. He may not have thought about the post-termination grace period.

If anything, we should be furious about the USPTO trying to bill for an expired patent, shouldn't we? Or can they bill during the period following expiration during which infringment may still be claimed for infringements pre-dating expiration?
