"Appeal from the judgment shall be taken directly to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit."

Wouldn't it be nice if Judge G could just set a trial date, determine a jury is not required, find For TPL/PTSC etc on all counts without the need to hear arguments and then immediately grant an Appeal.

Think how much time and money that would save EVERYONE. The verdict will be appealed anyway, right, so would it really matter if Judge G doesn't, pardon the pun, go through the motions?
