There has been some debate as of late regarding the language used in TPL/Aliance/PTSC press releases vs. other articles found on the internet.
For example: TPL/Aliance/PTSC all of have used the words settlement includes grant by TPL Group of rights under the MMP portfolio.
Additionally, Mr. Turley wrote, Patriot will limit comments solely to references to the wording of the joint press release statements.
Dutton & Associates, however, in their recent clarification wrote ....granting of licenses to all defendents
And Ron Zapata @ portfolio media wrote.....will recive rights to use seven US Patents
My question is this......is a grant of rights to use the same thing as granting licenses or signing licenses and does it include seven US patents?
The reply I received from Frank Hawkins in Jan 2008 is as follows:
Laurie, these are astute observations by you. The company and it's representatives including me have been instructed not to comment on the recent court case.
All I can say is, you sound like a very thoughtful and intelligent person. I have to let you draw your own conclusions about your question. Just run the math.
Happy New Year and Best Regards,
Frank
