"The controllable oscillator as taught by TALBOT is one way of clocking, or keeping a steady pulse that can control whatever it is connected to. The 336 is ALSO a clocking method....but with 1 BIG improvement...... once it receives its initial charge, it controls itself, via the heat that is made from the circuit itself.More heat=more voltage/charge=higher frequencies. This is made possible by being onchip with the rest of the CPU architecture. As the circuit cools it goes slower, but never going any faster or slower than it needs to. The TALBOT patent uses a current mirror to keep the charge on the ring circuit CONSTANT. This is the voltage control for the TALBOT circuit. The difference is that TALBOT keeps the constant charge on the circuit,Which keeps its frequency constant. The self controlling aspect (via heat,or temperature as spelled out in the 336 patent)makes 336 a self or non controlled ring oscillator. The heat actually modulates what frequencies come out of the circuit. Quite novel, and quite ingenious......"
