"It may be that they feel it would be WISE to refrain from ANY COMMENT on this action, lest it be twisted and misconstrued, and used in the future, to our disadvantage" I was almost agreeing with you, except I believe it should read "to their disadvantage". To paraphrase: "Keep calm, communicate nothing." Maybe it's just practice for pleading the 5th.
