"By the way, today's trading is 35K shares traded at the ask; 100's of thousands at the bid."
Why the continuing obsession with this insignificant detail, friend?
The simple fact is that there have been a bit over 1,000,000 shares traded so far today. That is 1,000,000 buys and 1,000,000 sells.
You, I or anyone else can decide to buy or sell any number of shares at any set price and you, I or anyone else can decide to buy or sell them at that price.
Yes, the price can be manipulated to some small degree if two or more folks decide to collude on the small buys and sells to push the price down (or up as well) but please be mindful that 1,000,000 shares transacted today represents roughly 0.25% of the available shares. That number thought it sounds like a big one fits within the definition of “thinly traded” because this company remains"below the radar" of most investors.
“Small relatively unknown publically traded companies are commonly thinly traded in the market. The lack of ready buyers and sellers generally leads to large discrepancies between the asking price and the bidding price. Thinly-traded securities are usually more risky than more liquid assets because a small number of market participants can have such a large impact on the price.”
Perhaps you noted that the last trade of the day yesterday was a sell into the bid of a relatively small amount of stock at 3:59PM EDT. Clearly a manipulative act (as are last second buys but these are more likely buoyed by individual shareholder optimism rather than a market manager. we shall see what happens today shortly)
Still, it should be obvious by now that the vast majority of PTSC shareholders do not consider the present price one where they feel they should sell their shares and move on. Moreover there is not, and will likely never be, a mad rush by extreme longs to liquidate at any price. (Though I suspect a good many have averaged down over time to push down their breakeven point)
Yes, it is likely there are those who would like to orchestrate some sort of panic and have the current holders sell their shares but holding after all these years, it is unlikely that they make that happen. The general sentiment seems to be that they are in this for the full ride regardless of the final result.
Again, my advice to those, who fret over such insignificant detail is to go have a beer in some sunny place, sitting back, in a relaxed frame of mind thinking of how good it is just to be alive.
Have a pleasant day
