While it's true that online brokers such as ameritrade etc. will not let you short penny stocks it's still legal and can be done. That was my point. The fees are usually exorbitant, like $2.50 per share or you have to have serious cash to back it up. Talk about risk, it's about as risky as one good get. Especially a stock like PTSC. The most you can gain with PTSC is around 10 cents at this time. The loss could be humongus for a fast rising stock.

Is PTSC SP being surpressed? That could well be happening and rather easily. There's a lot of shares in the float, over 400M. For the current average volume which is very low it would take a million or two to legally manipulate the price. Alas, the world of a penny stock.

Why would it be manipulated? Probably for a number of reasons.

I'll throw one out there.... It can be done by pros. That have a huge advantage over the retail investor. They buy and sell with timed computer software. If good news appears for a company they can gobble up huge amounts of shares before we could blink our eyes. The same if bad news happens, you'll never get out in time. The pros can trade almost 24/7. If a stock gets halted for news pending just watch where they open up at. Try to buy or sell. You'll find out. They're almost always the first in line either way, and those lines can be huge.

The pros are cold and calculating, no feelings about what happens to people or companies. It's about the money!

So here most of us just sit with our only weapon is hope.

I own a fair amount of PTSC shares and it's money I would not like to lose. However I'm well diversified and it won't change my life at all if PTSC fails. At this point I think I have a decent chance to make some cash. Eventually my family will most probably benefit.
