I wrote my post "Just a Thought" a few mornings ago and though I knew I should stay quiet I did not and so...
I Agree with your comments in this post I am replying to. However.... and there is always a However, in my opinion.....In ever company, agency, institution, in our country there is usually at least one individual if not many who are above politics and go by rules of fairness, morality and integrity and live life with honor. The larger the agency the greater the chance there are of one or more of the folks I describe above.
You are correct that many especially in govt. but also in business owe their job or serve in their job at the whim of a superior and therefore tailor their actions to what they think or are told is the desire of that "superior(s)". Such is life as we old timers know it.
But my post of, Just a Thought, was written with those people of integrity and honor of whom imo there are still many in govt (ie. itc) who will not look kindly at the intrusion of the will of what I feel is a tainted (once again IMO) superior(?) into a decision that should be made on facts based on the law. If the law is wrong, if the law is not fair then we have the ability in our country to change the law.
Presidential Directives as used by our current President are in many many cases being used to make law. That is the Constituional perview of Congress and not the President or the Supreme Court, and if we had a Congress (Republican and Democrat are both at fault) with backbone some of the many P. Directives coming out of the WH would be questioned and in fact objected to and constitutionally over ruled. But the fact is that we do not have a Congress that believes or imo even knows we are a country of laws and a country that has stood the test of time by following our US Constitution.
Considering imo that we are currently without a free press and what I perceive as a large number of Americans who have no idea of what is happening (I state this from just my own random converstations with many professionals in law, medicine, business and education people that I know) I guess it is understandable that institutional employees look more toward what they perceive their superiors want then what they should be looking at as mentioned above.
Therefore whether the Judge in our ITC case takes his cue from what is right or what he perceives his superiors (President? or those who control him), feel is right is what I attempted to say in my Just a Thought post. I still believe in what Edmund Burke said in the 18th century... "All that is necessry for the forces of evil to win the world is for enough good men to do nothing".
Here's hoping that in our case Honor wins over fear as ...... Fear is fleeting but Regret is forever.
B, as always with due respect.... God Bless
