I agree that "truthful fact" is redundant. It was an emphasis to contrast with "untruths" being presented as "fact".

"Having the opinion" is a fact and thus a true statement, unless it is a lie.

I have the opinion that some posters to this board have some serious character flaws on several levels. Some may think my opinion is wrong but my having it is a fact.
