If anyone would have known about Qualcomm chips and the potential infringement it would have been one of our past BOD members.
Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) today announced that Donald E. Schrock plans to retire as executive vice president and group president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT) on August 1, 2003. Following a successful 35-year career in the semiconductor industry, Mr. Schrock's decision to retire is based on his desire to spend more time with family. Effective immediately, Dr. Sanjay Jha has been appointed president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies.
"Under Don's leadership Qualcomm CDMA Technologies has become the world's leading supplier of CDMA chipsets. Don is well known for his ability to inspire the QCT organization to achieve excellence in both technical development and the nurturing of customer and supplier relationships," said Dr. Irwin M. Jacobs, chairman and CEO of Qualcomm. "We will all miss Don and wish him the best, but we are pleased that he will remain as group president through July, assuring an orderly transition for our customers, suppliers and employees. We are fortunate to have Sanjay to accept the baton from Don. Sanjay worked with Don and the entire QCT team for several years, providing technical leadership in QCT. Most recently, he has been responsible for several innovative projects, including GSM1x. Sanjay is well qualified to provide the leadership and vision to take QCT to even higher levels of success."
