Maybe this is part of the problem.
The patent dispute closed with a finding that HTC had infringed six claims in a microprocessing patent co-owned by TPL.
TPL had filed for bankruptcy earlier in the year.
The news comes as HTC announced its first ever quarterly loss of $3.5 billion Taiwan dollars, or around £738 million.
"This represents an extraordinary victory and vindication for the '336 patent and sends a strong signal to the marketplace that infringers of the MMP portfolio will be held accountable for their actions," said Cliff Flowers, TPL’s Interim Chief Executive Officer.
