Message: Announcement of an HTC license of $5M or more would be the best QUICK fix

While I don't expect it to included any dollar figures, it would be a serious shot in the arm IMO for PTSC/TPL to get it done and to announce an HTC license this week. That would put an end to the NDoC issue, and cement it in stone, and allow the ITC appeal decision, if favorable in allowing a review, to carry a lot more weight IMO, as it would put a lot of pressure on the remaining 8 infringers to sign a deal, or risk the possibility of import bans. I think that possibility improves, the fewer ITC litigant that remain, as the argument that it's a negative to the public interest diminishes the fewer vendors that are affected.

Now, personally, based on history and the players involved, I expect our side to cave and just sign HTC for an nominal amount in the "interest of the licensing program" (at this point a very weak argument IMO), if we do get them to sign. However, if by chance, we ARE playing hardball, but STILL get them to sign for $5M or more, I sure hope we get an agreement to announce that dollar figure. After a paltry $958K award, it's TOTALLY in our interest to PUBLICIZE an HTC license that improves dramatically, the fee that they will ultimately pay if indeed we get them to license.

Others here may argue, when the license is announced and no fee accompanies it, that it is strategically smart to leave this info confidential, but I hope at this point, the "insanity" definition of doing the same thing and expecting a different result will register with our company, TPL and shareholders, and that the clock is ticking and it's time to stop playing the 3-card monty game with the license fees.
