Oh and BTW, I never said shareholders are powerless. They are usually, if not always, powerless to accomplish what Brian suggests need to be done.

The power that shareholders do have I have pointed out before - put in your vote for the things on the proxy, or your most important vote - sell the sotck if you have no faith in the management. That's the way the system works.
